Dear Parents and Students,

Can you believe it?  We are already beginning the second nine weeks.  Now that the hurricanes are behind us, students should be settling into their new classes and working hard to learn the challenging material and standards in their courses.  Please encourage your son/daughter to take advantage of all tutoring available before school, during lunch, and after school from their teachers to make sure they keep up with the academic rigorous material in each of their classes. In addition, every teacher has office hours M-Th during lunch for assistance.

  •  Report cards were distributed to your son/daughter on Friday, October 27th.  Please take the time to look over the report card and encourage your son or daughter to take advantage of all opportunities for academic success.  Please feel free to contact Ms. Farnstrom, school counseling department @ #44397 to schedule a parent conference with the teachers.
  •  Did you know we have a “Think Tank” during the school day?  This program was started last year and proved to be very successful.  Any student who received a grade of “F” in a course needed for graduation will be placed into this study hall course instead of their elective class until credit is earned in that class.
  • Come join SAC (School Advisory Council).  We are looking for parents that can meet once per month @ 6:00 pm in the media center.  Our next SAC meeting is November 21st.  I hope to see you there.
  • I want to thank each of you for being supportive of Deltona High School.   As you know we are trying to increase our academic focus, school spirit and culture at Deltona High School.   Please get involved and join the Wolves’ Family by participating in school events and programs.  This is OUR community.  As a team, with all our stakeholders working together, we will make DHS the best school in Volusia County!  I appreciate all your support for Deltona High students, faculty and school community.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact me.  Together we can make sure that students reach their highest potential
